Hi

Have above boiler, will not light after reset (gas been off a month, has a Drayon/British Gas WR51

wirless thermostat -

DRAYTON DIGISTAT SCR RF WIRELESS REPAIR PART / DIY fix CAPACITOR Iskra 0.68uF | eBay

Presuure fine, green led on receiver ok.....Itries to light after reset, can hear the ignition elecrode sparking, feel pimp running BUT fan is NOT running ( have cover off.

Anyone..I want to short the the CH and HW out at boiler so they are always ready for demand via boiler dial/HW flow...

Cheers

ALSO the dial on the thermostat does not adjust the temp BUT it is stuck at 30c and has the flame sign so it giving a signal to the boiler.

The PDF fault finding documents are a bloody 'joke' !!!!!

Cheers

Are you sure that it is actually the electrode sparking that you can hear?
I would be very surprised if it is trying to ignite if the fan isn't turning.

Pretty sure 99.9%, i know EVERY other boiler the fan has to kick in first, looking at the diagnostics.faults then the first thing to check is faulty fan (spins freely), fan pcb (no smell burning etc, not removed to check board) or Flow temperature sensor.

I checked the Flow Temp Sensor(NTC) and it gave a reading of 2.4k (was about 8-10c in room)..
What should it read, can't find a spec on it ???

Part No is - 8 716 106 688 0
GC No. H26 542

Where to go next ?

Oh i've also shorted out the wireless thermostat.receiver at the boiler. so that's out of the equation

Cheers

How can i find the spec of this part ? Been on Youtube and one guy is saying it should be between 11k to 13k with 12 being the norm on All boilers ??

Cheers

check the fan m8

Yea' i'mm 99.9% its the fan, but it has a multiplug plugging into the fan pcb...

There is a way to test but can't find it yet, it's damp in the fan, definitely.

Cheers

take the pipe off the fan and give it a little suck or blow and see if it lights..
and if it does you know the pcb boards okay

What pipe ? there is a clear one just hanging there, APS or something, is so i have tried that..

yes the clear one ..usually connected to the top of the fan if it snapped off then it wont light

I suppose that works as an aps with the cover on as i can see it is sealed...Going to put a small heater on the fan section tom and see what happens..

Cheers mate, hope your not a member of DIYNOT.COM....I've upset everyfooker...lol

hi m8
me m8 said it could be the diaphragm

hope this is some help to you mate good luck

hi m8
me m8 said it could be the diaphragm

My mate is adamant its the fan, he knows 2 wires on the plug to fan that will run it, if its not that, then it's the PCB or Diaphragm...

The diaphragm is operated by pressure so i should here a relay closing/opening.

Worchester/Bosh Boilers are an absolute pile of CRAP, honestly my £300 Ferroli is better !!!!

Cheers

Found the fault, posted it on the DIYNOT forums, cost 38p, high temp resistor on fan pcb...

They all asking now have you had the air/gas/CO checked...i said i only run it for 2 minutes and had a portable CO alarm plus there is a 15 year old one fitted in the room....

I then asked if i borrow my mates tester, how far do i poke it down the exhaust pipe to test figure....lol

Waiting for replies, i know where the point is on the flue just winding the thick fookers up !!!!!

Ha Ha

I already i should of asked n the electricians forum, plumbders, painters and decorators then here as last resort..ha ha

Twats have disabled my account because i was right and they could not handle it !!!!
