Does anyone else buy on impulse.
I went to the local caravan shop to buy a drain plug (£7) and ended up buying a new caravan.
I scare myself at times lol

Yes, well same thing for us Ian.

6 years ago we went to look at buying a Cadac, came out with a new caravan.
Last September, went to get a new gas bottle, came out with a new caravan.......

I do not have enough savings to buy. The only impulse I have is sexual:hubbahubba:

Yea mate I'm had to have my bank and credit cards taken from me when I get I down I buy everything . I went a walk few years back went to the Boucher road for a coffee bought a brand new car . Lol that and I used to give all my money away lol

I used to impulse buy. My moto now is do I really need it and I usually don't so I don't buy it. As long as you're not in serious debt and it gives you enjoyment, I don't see a problem with it. Some say what's the point of being the wealthiest man in the graveyard.

A retired GP I used to have a pint with dropped off the twig whilst sitting on a large amount of savings and investments. Well over £1M, his parents were GPs too and he didn't have any heirs, apart from his estranged bother.

However, back to the thread! I use an Excel spreadsheet with one row per day and one tab per year to organise my finances. With it all filled in I can simulate purchases to see how it affects future cash flow.

I couldn't see where money was going properly prior to setting it up.

I tend to spend too much with impulse buying on ebay, but I sell a lot of stuff also, so it tends to even out.

(well almost :blushing:)
