Nigel farage

Person of the Year—TIME’s annual selection of the person who most influenced the news, for better or for worse

Why shouldn't Nigel Farage be shortlisted? He is probably more than most responsible for the UK decision to leave the EU.
Taking a look at some of the other shortlisters puts it in context, can't understand why you singled Farage out at all.

Hillary Clinton

Recep Tayyip Erdoğan

Vladimir Putin

Donald Trump

I like Nigel Farage, he adds a certain comedy value to politics :)

We sorely need comedy in politics, but do we not already get that with Mp's expenses claims and them voting themselves a pay rise every year?

because I really don't like him .

I like him also. He doesn't pull any punches, just says' it as it is. His input at the EU was a joy to watch.
Most MEP's are happy to take their money and toe the line. Our Nigel was taking the money and exposing the EU for what they really are, a failed system.

The reason for @countryboy objection to the nomination is "because I really don't like him". That well thought out explanation was liked by another well known DW "sage". I honestly had to double check that I hadn't inadvertently replied to a fun and laughter thread. :proud:

Im not getting into a debate about politics
My reply was to your comment to the post "because I dont like him"... My reply was "many do"

:)

There is probably a lot of people who like him but darent't admit it.

Heard a couple of interviews with him post Brexit on Irish radio and have to say he seemed to make a lot of sense. Specifically regarding the Irish situation with the banks and Germany controlling our budgets. No Irish politician would ever call out the Germans to this degree on a national station. He then went on to say that if anybody wanted to setup as an Irish party equivalent to his own with an Irish type Brexit he would be happy to advise them.

what you want me to say . I hate what his party stands for I think he is a bigoted small minded moron that appeals to the same kind of people that trump appeals to in America .
