Do you tip and what for and how much . I'm always for tipping if it's a good job done but I worked out that when I was away there it cost me around €130 lol I got talking to a scottish lad and his view was I don't tip ( he was a post man ) he said no one tips me for delivering there mail why should I tip them for doing their jobs . So what you think is it just polite or have we came to a point where we are embarrassed not to and who do you tip and who don't you

It varys with me. Kinda of always tip when on holiday and will generaly tip in a served restaraunt (self dervice I don't) I also try and tip at least 10% of the bill. If I have had poor service I don't leave a tip

Taxis...10%

Restaurants...10% (nothing if not happy with meal or service, or if service charge included)

That's about it I think.

Forgot about taxis lol I do tip them but generally a round up to save their change. (Unless I'm in Edinburgh and its @HibbyDave he gets short changed lol)

As a rule I always tip, especially restaurants hotels etc, they get shit pay and rely on a wee tip to make ends meet, YOU should always tip taxi drivers or you'll go the long way the next time. :Angryfire

LOL tight git :proud:......it does seem to be the norm now for people to round up the fare rather than tip, I don't mind really I'm just happy to get a fare nowadays with all the fecking uber cnuts around.

mate the taxis drivers in Palma were rounding it up themselves all bar one did this and I mean if it was €7.10 they gave you €2 change from €10
They did themselves out if the usual keep the change mate . I didn't like them doing that . The lad that gave me my change got to keep it the others got the few cents they decided to keep

Nearly always tip. Especially in restaurants.
The staff in restaurants are not on great wages and I've never experienced poor service.
But as far as takeaways goes.....
I usually tip the delivery driver. But if my prawn crackers are in pieces NO tip next time.

I always give out tips.. ie never eat yello snow or never pish against the wind ( unless you want to get your own back )

sent from 2 tin cans and some string

Tipping is slightly different here. The locals seldom leave a tip in restaurants- perhaps a few coppers, that's it- so the staff don't really expect it. I generally do leave a bit more than that- if I am happy with the service that is, which is normally the case. It is appreciated and usually ensures good service on the next visit.
A local bar asked me to set up their wifi- the barman requested "TIPTHEBARMAN" as the password lol! I changed it slightly to 'TIPTHESTAFF'.
My other half was once offered a tip in the Pancake Place in Edinburgh by a grumpy old woman- 'When you're crossing the road, look both ways'.

Great place to live (though it's pishin' down today lol!)- I'm in the quieter eastern side, closer to the Spanish border. AND (bonus) asylum seekers have been offered shelter here & they don't want to come. Happy days :0)

I very rarely tip, I don't get a tip for doing my job so I don't see why I should tip other people for doing theirs!

They should be sent right back to where they originated from then. We shouldn't be bowing to their every wish and demand!

I always tip, especially in restaurants... but not in self service places or places that add service charges.

I used to be a postman a very long time ago lol, I always got tipped at XMAS, never other times but used to get a good few hundred quid, like 20 years ago...

When my eldest Son and Daughter were at College they both worked as table service at the same Pub/Food type place. All tips went into a pot behind the bar and was split between all staff.

This was apparently because the ladies got better and more frequent tips than the lads, something my daughter gloated about.

i tip in most restaurants and taxis used to be a cabby myself I sometimes don't tip delivery drivers as the come from the shop themselves and give you the notes and hold back on the change till i stick my paw out. I never used to bother but that's just cheek so they have shot themselves in there own foot Its great to tip someone and actually get a thank you and hope you enjoy your meal or am i just being an Auld Codger?

Tip them by saying if you need a tip get a better paid job
