The one earlier in the year might have been for broadband maybe? Just guessing but I think I remember it and I don't have any other services.

Over five million Virgin Media customers will pay an average 5.1pc more from November after the firm announced its third price rise of the year.

It is increasing the cost of a number of its TV packages by up to £3.49 per month. Line rental will increase by £1.01 to £19 per month.

Some customers will have to pay up to £42 more a year under the changes.
It is the third time this year that Virgin Media has upped costs for customers.

In February, it increased prices – including line rental - by an average 5.4pc for 4.4million customers.

Then in June it put up the price of some TV packages for those with Sky Sports and Sky Movies.

Virgin Media is writing to customers to inform them of the changes.
Under rules set by Ofcom, the telecoms regulator, existing customers are able to leave without penalty if they are unhappy with the higher cost, as long as they joined after 23 January 2014.

Those who wish to leave have 30 days from when they receive details of the price change to inform Virgin Media that they wish to cancel.

Virgin Media blamed the increases on its continued investment in its ultrafast broadband network.

Gregor McNeil, managing director for consumer at Virgin Media said: “We do everything we can to keep prices competitive while striking the balance with investing in more of what our customers want

we all have to pay for over inflated cost of EPL like it or not no matter what corporate supplier you use

Think mine is about £33 month for 100meg inc phoneline.

What pisses me off is that i have to use it in Modem mode as the signal is so rubbish, i then use a Linksys WRT54G wireless router which i have had for over 10 years and i only get 10 Meg ??

I have 100mg BB and home phone cost me 34.99 a month, only been on package dropped from 200 BB not had anything about price increase a set

Them and sky take the piss. I always ring sky after my 12 month contract saying they've cut the overtime in work and i need to cancel, they ususlly give it me for £40 for 8 months, then £67 for the last 4. (think it worked out about £52 a month) better than £67

I'll have to try it on with virjin. (i remember trying it a few years back, and the guy said "no problem, i'll cancel it now lol) that wasn't how it was supposed to go. I should have waited till the end of the month before ringing them to change my mind and reconnect. Incase they rang me back with a new deal.

sky so easy to get @least 50% off no idea about virgin as never had it

with virmin i ring to cancel and if gets that far i just hang up and ring back till i get what i want a better deal.

I just have vermin broadband.
I was paying £27 for 100meg.
I rung them and said I was changing over to BT. They then gave me 150 meg for £22.
Even now it's went up to £25.
Another tactic I've seen for myself is virmin saying you can't get broadband "without" a phone line!!

Amazing that there saying that as I just have broadband.
Possibably a sales commission at work.
(very sneaky)

Enough is enough.
Moving to another ISP. Prices have more than doubled in 4 years.
after there sneaky 50p increases every few months now I get this letter
(just for broadband)!!

be careful m8 they tried to increase price on me by £3.49 after a month of taking out new deal.

I've just signed up for BT due to this. They increased it back in March once my introductory offer ended and now again in November, plus my free upgrade from 50 to 70 kicked in the other month and there's been no change in speed even though virgin say everything's fine

mine is a 200mb line but there is no way I get that sort of speed, but I stuck with them as I don't have a BT line to my house and that costs to much to install.

Mine is the min speed is it 50Meg now ?

This is a TOTAL rip by Branston Pickle !!! Thought he had ethics !!!!

He's after the NHS and increasing prices for nothing in return !!

I am SURE i done a 'tied in' deal (i have the dates somewhere)but i bet in the smallprint the price increases still apply !!

Pissed off !!!

The price increase stinks, but it still beats paying for all the Blu-Rays, DVD's and music I download, so there is that.

Over the last 5 years or so I've never had a problem with speed, always maxed out my connection with the newsgroups.
