Yet another Virgin Price increase

Is anyone having issues with their Virgin internet slowing down to a snails pace for certain periods of time? Sometimes my internet slows to 1mb/s, even though I've got 50mb and run nothing on it other than my PC. Beginning to get quite annoyed at their service.
Had an issue like that a couple of years ago with vermin.
Turned out cable was damaged of Irish coast and affected hundreds of thousands of costumers.
Took about 3 weeks to get it fixed.
I complained and they didn't charge me 3 weeks.

Quicker you make a complaint in the better.
They normally send an engineer out within few days.
They normally test your connection while your on the phone.
So ring them when your connection has dropped.

Tell them when your watching porn it keeps buffering.

I had a similar problem a while back. Long story short, I dabbled in Bitcoin mining a while back and I had downloaded a bitcoin virus. Found via my router it was using 4-5gb per day even when i knew it wasn't downloading anything. I'd say my computer knowledge was above average, so i was embarrassed to say the least. Never had a Virus before as I was pretty careful. Never say never.

Reason why i'm saying this is, check your computer(s) for viruses. Change your wifi passwords just in case. If everythings still the same then you can go armed to Virgin and say you've covered all the bases!

I recieved a phone call from virgin yesterday wanting to give me a discount on my broadband which i was already getting at 38.00 for 200meg with 6month still left. so She then offered me a deal for an extra pound on a 12 month contract which i cant get my head around as it includes a phone line aswell. Brand new box.

AND THEY RUNG YOU UP WHEN YOU WERE HALF WAY IN YOUR CONTRACT???

Did you give them your card details?
Sounds to good to be true. Especially when your tied into contract.

I was 2 mins from hanging up as it was just random as so weather they've picked people at random for the deal but I never gave any card details, the only thing I need to pay is one off 14.99 activation but that's added to my next bill. I've logged back on and checked my account and can c things are changed from just the broadband which I haggled anyway down at start off contract to 38 which includes vat and I got 200 meg plus hub3 . The deal I got now is 39 all in as she said for a quid more you can get what I posted on here. But yeh I was 6 month into having the broadband as I just moved in here may. So Friday I've got to sit in and wait for yodel to deliver so be interesting to c what they are sending but she said about it being a self install which includes phone line so I'll keep ya updated

That's what I call a deal. Maybe if them prices were given to everyone people would not need to go down other routes.

Nice one @wilson1980

The box they are sending out will be one of the DOCSIS 3.

I just rang them to try and get a deal. At the moment I pay £43-74 per month for 200mb broadband.
The guy I spoke to was limited to what he could offer but immediately said £38 pm with the first month free. I said it wasn't good enough and having been a subscriber for over 16 years I hoped for better.
Fair play to him though cos he fired off an email to retentions so I was told to expect a phone call from them as they could perhaps offer me a better deal. I explained to him that the last broadband deal I ever asked for was 50mb. Since then I have been given 2 free upgrades which has cost me a packet, I never asked for a "free upgrade".

Shall report back when they get in touch

That is what has been holding me back for years, however when I was on holiday this year. I was getting 1 meg and was able to stream live tv and football matches.
So I figured if 1 meg is enough then I don't need 50

Got my sky bb today
Clocked it 6 meg this afternoon and 4 meg this evening
Watched live TV and a movie on my kodi ok
Cant get Sky sports or BT sports to work
Wonder if I need a VPN?
Any advice sky bb and kodi users?

That is a fantastic deal. Full price in my area is £76 but they're currently offering it for £55 for 12 months and then it would revert to full price. I'm checking out alternatives at the moment but I will give them the third degree when I phone to cancel and see what they offer.
