Yet another Virgin Price increase

I could not give a shite about the speed 50meg is fine for me.

As for Blu Rays, Dvd's, albums, can not believe people are DULL enough to purchase them !!

Same as the 3D shite !!!

£10-£15 like the USA should be the norm for super speed...

I get full speed :) this is over wifi and god know what kids are streaming at the moment

Mine is the min speed is it 50Meg now ?

This is a TOTAL rip by Branston Pickle !!! Thought he had ethics !!!!

He's after the NHS and increasing prices for nothing in return !!

I am SURE i done a 'tied in' deal (i have the dates somewhere)but i bet in the smallprint the price increases still apply !!

Pissed off !!!

Nothing to do with Branson mate. He has never owned or been the boss of Virgin Media. He did sell Virgin Mobile to NTL/Telewest for a cash and shares deal and signed a 30 year deal for the company to use his brand name. The company was then sold to a US company Liberty Global and is owned by billionaire media mogul John Malone.
It was reported at the time that Branson owned just 3% of the shares, but 3% of the £15 Billion it sold for ain't too shabby.

Time to give em a phone call and get a new cheaper contract I've just got out of mine I pay £49 for 200 meg and line rental and still they want a few extra quid geeky gits !!

Bang on mate, although I think he actually owned like 10% of VM when it started using his name. Same with the airlines, he actually just rents his name, and doesn't own the whole airline.

TBH, I have both sky and VM, misses dont like the VM box or menu, but im thinking of ditching both and just having BB. Ive got 200Mbps but I rarely download anything these days, pretty much gone legit.... ish ;)

This is over wifi, with nephew watching netflix on ethernet.

Yes, he had 10.7% of VM but as well as being paid over 200 million for those shares, he received either 2 or 3% shares in the new company. The actual figure seems to depend on which link you click, lol.

Had my first VM SH2 crash yesterday, I hope it's just a one off... Seems to be quite a few Pre RS errors on a couple of DS channels.

There aren't many suppliers realistically if you want the higher speeds.

everyone taking the piss these days. Increasing prices with shite service.

Been a Virgin customer since the Cable and Wireless days.
I am so p*ssed off with them putting the prices up and having to call up and get yet another discount applied.
I have paid 5 different subscription charges in the last 6 months.

So I have taken advantage of the Sky Black Friday deal.
Wanted to keep my number so they had to apply to Virgin to tf my number.
Stangely enough I got a call from Virgin asking if I wanted to take their black Friday deal that matched Skys offer.
I told him that I have been a loyal Virgin customer for about 15 years, but they have been trying to take the p*ss for the last 10 years, and I now intend to be a loyal Sky customer (for at least 12 months)

I just have broadband with them.
Got it down £28pm last week as the year deal they gave was £34pm and entered new contract.

Would never give them my money for there tv service.
My zgemma does works well. Even "if" or "when" C/S goes down I won't be paying for the rubbish.

It has to work two ways. If tv was priced at fair price there would be no issues from me.
But greed for hyped viewing won't wear it.

Take you tv licence (tv tax) then you sly or vermin bill into consideration.....
turns out its an expensive hobby.

going to phone them tomorrow and bitch about the price again and see if i get it any cheaper

did this a few times now over the years and always get somthing knocked off ;)

They have 13 million subscribers so every time they increase prices by £3.00 they stand to make an extra £40 million per month for f*ck all cheeky feckers

Been thinking of changing from Virgin due to the super slow Tivo box. Problem is the broadband service and speed is the best and I'm a bit stuck with the email address which I've had for years for my business.

Might be worth trying to phase in a new email address so that VM dont have you over a barrel? I agree with you on broadband thou, fastest around and not sure I could go back to the ' you could possibly get this speed if your on at midnight and no one else if using the internet and your right next door to the exchange'

That is what has been holding me back for years, however when I was on holiday this year. I was getting 1 meg and was able to stream live tv and football matches.
So I figured if 1 meg is enough then I don't need 50

streaming live tv sport etc does not need fast broadband contrary to belief 1 to 3 mb ample

I was getting 150meg of vermin. There was no real need for in my house but ping time was good.
To get my bill down reduced my speed from 150meg to 50meg.
In my area vermin can not offer less than 50meg and that costs me £28 (broadband only)

I did ring around other ISPs and the there prices were slightly cheaper but had connection charge.
Could of got phone and broadband around £18pm. But speeds of 8meg is not worth it.

With all the torrenting I do I'm not sure how I would cope with anything less than the 150Mb broadband from VM

i'm just curious what would be the price for 1000 Mbs download and 300 Mbs upload at virgin. I currently pay £10 per month and i get an extra 3g mobile modem with 5GB/month.

Is anyone having issues with their Virgin internet slowing down to a snails pace for certain periods of time? Sometimes my internet slows to 1mb/s, even though I've got 50mb and run nothing on it other than my PC. Beginning to get quite annoyed at their service.
