Hi,

This is sort of digitally related.

Due to my car being hit by a spate of misfortune, i have been borrowing a friends car - a renault clio grande.

This car has a lock on the radio - i.e someones tried to enter the radio code incorrectly too many times and now it just says CODE. Which means i'm without any form of in car entertainment.

Does anyone know how to reset this so i can enter the correct code. It looks as though i'll be using this car for the next two weeks and without radio i'm bound to waste away.

Can anyone help me bring back the DJ?

You normally have to leave the ignition switched on for 12 hours for it to reset m8 :( Just dont leave it parked in the street while you do that :)

Might only be a few hours depends on how many times the wrong code has been put into it.

If you have no joy tell me what the year of the vehicle is and the make and model of the stereo. I work for Renault and may be able to help

left the key in the ignition for 2hrs and the CODE changed to 0000 - so i guess all i need now is to get the code...... Thanks Dutcho and thanks for the offer pmoore31, hopefully i can get the code from the previous owner and will have music soon.

If you cant get the code from previous owner, It should be on the front page of the service history book. A 4 digit code. If you have no joy there, depending of year I will be able to find out by reg number if its a renault stereo that was factory fit.

Same thing happened to my missus' clio, thought it was totally messed up. After about 3 weeks it suddenly went back to 0000, releif or what.

Finally sussed the CODE thing - right everytime you enter an incorrect code it locks it. First time for 1minute, second for 2mins third for 4mins, 4th for 8mins etc etc until the end of time i'd assume.

I tried the code from the log book, but it didn't do the job, have one more code to try then i'm stuck for ideas - may have to call on you pmoore31. Hope thats OK.

enter the code from the book again then press and hold the 6 in, this should do thre trick, failing that post the the model number of the stereo, and the serial number and i'll send you code.
