Any Idea how to stop call centres getting my number and phoning me?

nah i think there is some sort of association whom you join with after this you dont get any calls ill find out for you off a mate who had the same problem he was telling me about it the other day

I normally ask them to wait a minute, then put the phone down and wait to see how long it takes for them to get the hint.

lol nice one.. i refuse to speak to any call centre not based in this country.. my mum always gets americans ringing her asking her if she has a credit card.. she just tells them to **** off ... but they ring still.. dont know ho they get the numbers.. ex directory is supposed to mean u dont want shyte ringing you. i mean how many times a year are we supposed to have new windows??

Register with tps and it should stop most of the calls but i like ellie1998's reply

don't really get many sales or call centre calls had about 2 in the last 6 months before they start there sales pitch I just ask where they got my number from as I am ex directory the usually say it's a random dialer I just ask them to remove my number from there list and do not phone me again seems to work..

you could also tell them your on the witness protection scheme and if they do not remove your number from their list the you will need to inform your contact at MI5

I'll usually lead them on for ages just to piss them off. Either that or I leave the phone unplugged until I need it

i normally let tham rant on...then ask them would they like to buy something...i dunno ...fookin anything..er "wanna buy my motorbike..?" its yours for £500! straight away they put the phone down..plus you get the buzz of pissing them off!

I mostly hang up straight away but it's getting beyond a joke now and when you say you have no time or your not interested they have some excuse to keep talking.

I would nuke thier country on this subject alone...

I dont hang up or leave them on the phone for long when they phone my house and I answer I just tell the missus its for her so she gets it

if u not got the site to regester it is h**p://www.tpsonline.org.uk/tps/ i did our nubmer at home, like u i got realy p***ed off with the amount of calls.

it does say when u register it will be 28 days before it is enforced.

the interesting thing is when these jokers ring now (i must admit it has dropped in number like nothing else) my wife and i cut through there cr*p and just say we are signed up to the tps and b4 u can say anything else they apologise and say our number will be removed from their database.

reason is if they are signed up to not ring anybody who is registed it is a £5000 fine everytime (unfortunatly not payed to u or me). but it does seem to work

I use to have this problem until the companies i delt with found out that i was getting the stuff delivered to a non existing address. and not copping for the bill.... : mr ed : got myself into a whole lot of shite :toiletcla with the old bill :Kickassro and now my name is mud. not even me old mum rings me anymore...... :nopity: It wasnt to good when i got locked up though :BUMMER: But now AINT LIFE GREAT yee haa...
