"People of colour" sounds well iffy (new PC term apparently). He prefers "Oi, Levi, your round M8"!

Will we ever get rid of racism while we still invent new names?

Only ways to get rid of racism is to stop going on about it all the time people nit pick about everything this doesn't help it keeps highlighting it which isn't good.

Martin Luther King used the term "Citizens of Colour" back in the 1960s and "People of Colour" has been used since the 1980s, so it's hardly new.

Not sure about the PC use either. A lot of the people it refers to find the term either clumsy or downright offensive nowadays.

I prefer the term "People" plain and simple.

I've never understood the need to make any distinctions based on race, colour, gender or sexual orientation etc... And yes I'm old enough to remember when these distinctions were common place.

To me a friend is always just a friend, not a black friend, not a gay friend, not a male or female friend.

The statement My Mate Reckons does not excuse the posting of racial proper gander in any form this was worded to get a reaction and as succeeded by the looks of it ...

This is just my opinion ....

To be fair to Him Her, I think he was trying to pretty much say what Captin so eloquently worded, at least I hope so

@Captin expressed it far better than I did. I didn't know the phrase had been used so long ago @nara.

The point was I noticed the phrase seemed to be used more regularly in the media and only serves to unecessarily highlight an irrelevant difference.

I'm glad SOME people got it at least.
