Hi peeps.

I have a LED lenser P7 torch, started playing up yesterday :( wasn't latching on when pushing the power button.
Found out online that it's a resistor that lifts on the ocb At the power button.
Took it apart and soldered that but still does not latch on with the first click which is high power.
I found this

It's cracked in half :(

From what I can work out its got 1RO on It. which I think is 1Ohm ? 0603 size I think ?

Anyone know where I can get a surface mount replacement. Torch runs on 4xaaa battery's.

Ty

Would a through-hole fit in the case?

Maplin would do those but not sure if they do 1/8W size (small axial).

I wouldn't think so mate as these torches are made up from s removable battery cartridge and the switch is part of this. Has a pcb under the button. With two surface mounts, one controlling high power and one on low power.

If last resort could try a normal one I guess :-s although don't know if can make it fit lol

Just bend the leads a bit with small pliers :). Or follow the pads to somewhere more convenient to solder to.

I'll take it apart again tomorrow an show Ya.

There are some images online but can't link them in from phone.

These any good. Edit. No good

I'm not even sure what a 1R resistor is doing in there :).

Had a torch apart the other day to repair but there was a knackered glob-top of some description. Just set it to full whenever the switch was pressed.

Not sure either :-/ it's a cree led torch so runs super bright. Dunno if that's why it's in there ??

From what I can find its 1R0, which looks to be 1 Ohm ?

That's the board that it's come off.

That slides inside that holder up tight :( so don't know if a normal resistor will squeeze in.

That's much bigger than 0603 :).

Measure the existing one to guess what it is but those 1W ones are looking promising.

Look at your screwdrivers, somewhere it will tell you the width of the flat ones.

Looks like 6.4mm-ish so the 2512 1W ones will do.

Am I measuring the length or width mate ? Long edge or short edge ? :)

You need the one at the bottom of that table then, 2512.

Those ones off fleaBay will probably be right :).
