Businesses are furious after a piece of software used by retailers on Amazon went wrong, causing hundreds of items to be sold at 1p.

Some firms which use RepricerExpress say they risk going bankrupt because the problem has resulted in them losing so much money.

just seen this, did anybody get a bargain?

ye got a few items but some already cancelled but still not cancelled the graphics cards I bought at 1p

the article gave the impression that the traders had to honour the sales, this not the case then?

all I had cancelled where rechargeable batterys at 1p each (ordered 6 )I still have 4 graphics cards and 4 tube of artic silver paste showing on my orders
so will need to wait and see

Tbh either amazon need to stand it or orders need cancelling.
Not sellers fault.

the sellers in question were using a bit of software wich checked competors prices and adjusting theirs so the were still competative.

interesting who will take the hit if they honour the sales..

Can't see them honoring it? Many years back Argos priced a £350 camera for £99. I ordered one, they emailed saying that it was a mistake and i will be refunded. Someone must have pushed it a bit and they then decided to honor all the orders. But i think from that day forward, lessons were learned, and they introduced some legislation in their terms and conditions in case a similar thing happened again.

Your correct they now have it written in t@c's that allow them to cancel due to price errors. I also received a phone and a hifi on a pricing error years back as did some others on here. Im sure it was woolworths

I have had a few over the years . best was a full year contract from t mobile at £1
