uTorrent issues!

I hope this is the right place to post...

I have used uTorrent for as long as I can remember and never had an issue with it downloading. I downloaded it on a friend's computer and every time they or I download something on their computer it doesn't work for some reason. On my computer it shows the thumbnail as a frozen image from the film where it opens up with VCL player. On my friends computer it has the green 'u' from uTorrent as the thumbnail and when it is clicked to open it opens uTorrent up and continues seeding...
Why?
Its frustrating for me as I recommended it and it isn't working for them!
Hope someone can help....

Do they have the correct codecs installed to view the file types you are downloading?

Try going for an mp3 to see if they work.

After rereading your post, check your settings in utorrent to check the d/l location
to make sure the file you are clicking on is the proper file divx, mp4, mkv etc and not the torrent file.

try to open the right port forwarding
