i have a sony vaio top of the range jobby. but the power suppy is like a heater its so hot. i cant pick it up has anyone else had this problem.

dont have a sony but all the ones i have had are the same m8. u could try getting a compatible one with a higher amp rating but dont think that would help really

i've got a 3year old FX 505 and the power supply on that gets very hot when its charging from near flat. It's usual just hot in normal use. can't be to much wrong with it though, lasted a few years without any causing any fires.... I'd recommend you get it checked out if you can't pick it up though, it may be the battery that's faulty?

Hi biders008

I have a Sony Vaio. 512mb dvd writer etc. My power pack does get quite hot but not enough so you can't hold it. If it really is that hot it sounds like you may need to contact your after sales customer care and get it checked out. Better to be safe than sorry mate.

i have sony vaio unfortunatly NOT top of the range it is a VGN-B1VP with is a 1.6 centrino with 40g hdd usb 2 etc and yes the charge/psu gets very hot.

i did see something on the vaio forum about heat problems, if u dint/havent yet signed up there is a forum in the club vaio section on the web.

at least it has an extra function as a heater but ill get it sorted!!

lads, i assume this is the same with all laptops, on mine it heats up when it is charging the battery from a low charge position but once the battery is charged, the adaptor cools down.
