As christmas has just gone I now have a million and one toys for the kids I need to power so which AA OR AAA battery's last the longest?

TBH some of the fecking toys won't have new battery's once they are dead cuz there to fecking noisy but the ones I like will be replaced (remote controlled car etc) :)

I always buy Duracell but they ain't the cheapest and wonder if there were any better buys?

I normally buy the box of 100 maplin batteries, you can get them for £15 quid occasionally. Normally £30, for the price they are pretty good.

I use rechargeable ones, only thing though is trying to stop the kids throwing the batteries away when they go flat! :)

Same as @MH but being a tight old git I only buy when the £15 offer is on the go.
They are good batteries and at that price it makes them a no brainer.

A great test breakdown with the exception that it bases the prices on the small packs of batteries.
In the case of Maplin extralonglife Alkaline that would be £2.99 for 4 batteries, whereas the offer price of 100 for £15 would equate to 60p for 4 and so would make them a much more attractive choice than shown in this test and this could also be the case with other brands. But overall a great test breakdown of value.

Same here, I pick them up from maplins when they are on offer.

Like previous posters, I just go to Maplin and buy a pack of each.

Duracell Procell from my local cardiology unit ( i'm there quite a lot for test n check ups)

I was going to post the battery test page, I am going to be buying shit loads of Ikea ones next time I am there, we get procell ones at work to sell on but Ikea is still cheaper :D
