Hi guys,
I am looking to buy a new combi boiler, & was wondering if anyone could recommend 1, it will be sited in the cellar, and will heat up 9 radiators over 3 floors (downstairs upstairs & attic ) am looking to spend around £500-£700 for the rite 1. also how many kw's will it need 2 be 4 the above??

Do not get a potterton - see my post in the elctronics section - lots of issues with their cicuit boards.

I assume you are fitting it yourself? For the price you have suggested I would be surprised if you could get a plumber to fit one for that. My mother had a standard CH boiler fitted last september and it cost her £1700! An this was one of the lower quotes.

best boilers to get are either the VAILIANT ECOMAX CONDENSING COMBI or BAXI 80E CONDENSING COMBI that is the only 2 my guvnor swears by! my company charge £1,600 fully installed with 5 rads! if ur essex based pm me and we could get a deal struck if ur just wanting a boiler change!

hi m8, i replaced worcester combi boiler last year for a baxi 105e i have loads of rads 13 big house. its been the db's heats em up in no time and i think 11 ltrs/min for the hot at the time was 1 of the best flow rates i got mine online from http://www.mrcentralheating.com/mr-central-heating.htm

ignor all the bits for complete systems u can buy just boiler and they deliver uk wide

well said hatab! if u dont want a condensing boiler(they are the most efficient tho and have the highest sedbuk ratings but cost more) then just get the standard baxi 105E combi! forgot about that! cos all we fit now are condensers as standard!

best place to try for cheap boilers is www.mrcentralheating.com very very cheap! they sell whole heating packs but you can buy just the boiler on its own! and remember any gas products must only be fitted by corgi registered engineers!

Would I be able to fix the boiler 2 the wall and then get corgi man 2 connect up the gas, and test ??

if u feel your competent enough mate then go ahead! but do remember gas is dangerous! when u cut thru the gas(turn off at the meter) make sure you get a compression cap to blank the gas off! and dont use a push fit cap! and after u have fitted the cap and put the gas back on at the meter get some leak detection spray to test the cap!

pm me if need be and i can tell you whats what thru msn!

Vailiant had 1 installed 18 months ago and its excellent.Get a longer warranty than most as long as u have it serviced once a year. And unfortunately u can not argue with German engineering (pains me to say that)
