Hiya Doobie

Leave XP 64Bit alone for the moment the system is too unstable. I had a Beta ver that Microsoft kindly sent me and you can have it if you want. Its legit but absolutely sh1t

i downloaded it and i must agree with you will wait till they bring a final (retail)version out then go for that cheers m8

I installed it on a MSI Neo Geo XP64bit 3000MHz machine and had a real problem getting it to go in. It was flaging up all sorts of errors which was mimicking memory faults and graphics problems.
Once it was in eventually with a lot of persuasion i installed office Pro 2003 and crashed completely after launching Word. Rebooted and tried word again and it still crashed but this time rebooting itself and the nice window saying it has recovered from a fatal error saying it might be due a program or driver that has been installed recently.
After getting totally peeved with it loaded XP Home over a network and 35 minutes later a full working system and stable as hell even if you hit it with a sledge hammer if you know what i mean.

So my theory is this, When XP first came out it was exactly the same and after a load of software patches and service packs XP Home or Pro to me seems to be one of the most stable operating systems going.
XP 64 Bit no doubt will be when they have got it finally sorted out really good but every software provider needs to keep up to date and transfer there 32bit software to 64.

So in my opinion when it is released leave it alone for 18 months and let the big companies have all the major headaches

cheers big-al101 m8
will leave it for a while as with xp and every other windows related product there will be patches and service packs for evermore windows longhorn is the official 64 bit name i think m8

Glad to help Doobie

Its just my opinion people might have different views but thats what a Democratic Society does and freedom of speech
