So suggest NICE in the interest of reducing our obesity levels - Parking costs set to soar - Latest car stories - MSN Cars UK

So we'll be encouraged to walk or cycle all those short journeys which is fine except for people like me who don't have any short journeys?

A trip to the supermarket is 12 miles there and back and will take me an hour per load. If I don't want to pay the increased parking charges it would mean taking an entire day off, doing 8 trips, a total of 96 miles.

Brilliant!

On the other hand it might be cheaper just to pay 'cos I'll just eat more to be able to cycle the distances required and avoid losing any more weight I'm not actually carrying.

Are these people in cloud-cuckoo land???
