Murders, Stabbings Shootings, Suicide !!!

is it just my imagination but every time i turn the news on or pickup a paper over the last week or two i hear of yet another death or near death.

it seems to be all over the country too not just the big cities.

is it just drink, too much families getting together kids in gangs ?

very sad for those left behind.

yes you are right, all dome and gloom .... this is the reason why i dont watch the news .........

Even when there is good news the BBC always manage to put a gloomy slant on it.

i got to the point were i dont even by a paper any more.

Kind of true to say No News is good news, because there never is in the media these days.

Right now I do not have a TV but my last place I rented, there was tv to watch and when watching news you hear something usually on a daily basis. I guess because of the gun culture as well as the idiotic crazy people that live here!

its always been happening it just seems the news reports it more these day.

scare and control tactics, lets the barstewards pass laws they want without us saying no as then we are all supposed to feel safer.

We are all puppets in the hands of morons, brokers of bad news and theorists that seek to put the common man in his place.

It's just propaganda, shootings, stabbings, murder, suicide, (as horrible as they all are) have been going on for years.

It sells papers, you would be surprised how much doom and gloom will sell a paper, I mean who wants to read about how wonderful things are, it might be refreshing to read at times, but if it was mainstream no one would buy a paper... however a death/affair/scandal/murder will out sell a good dead any day of the week.

Maybe the question should be why does the MAJORITY want to read about shootings/stabbings/murder/suicide?

That is a very interesting question. Is it morbid curousity or does it make people feel better off/fortunate with respect to the vicims/families? We'll have to get Freud on the case.

I don't read papers but do sometimes feel almost compelled to watch the misserabe news, even though i know it usually annoys me with what i see/hear. I think we need protection from ourselves i mean, do we really need to know all thats wrong with the world? Maybe if it's a local issue but there's no point knowing something if you can't do anything about it.

Very true. The media, both press and tv, just sensationalise and draw our attention to this more nowadays.

As the population rises, the crime rate rises. Try reading the histories of gangland crime and multiple murder in the 40s, 50s and 60s. Nothing changes.
