If you cross the U.K. border illegally you get a job, a driver's license, food stamps, a place to live, health care, housing & child benefits, education, & tax free business for 7 yrs. No wonder we are a country in debt

I see exactly what you have posted all over the internet but that doesn't make it true.

It's even on US sites with the border named as the US border.

I know it's not a statement that is original to you and I'm not offended. I just think that if statements are made, as if they are facts, then some evidence for those facts need to be provided.

in my town i see it all the time not sure if it the same all over but im sure it is in most

sorry it may seem daft, but what is the point of this thread? Op, you have been here long enough to know how these threads go. If you have a problem with something that has happened recently then by all means rant about it. You may be right or wrong but how does that affect you? Have you just failed a driving test or been rejected for a job? Mate, that's life. Moan all you like but nobody will give you a handout or sympathise. Do what all the winners do, get up, dust yourself off and keep going. Life is better when you live it like that.

the point of my post is to start i conversation on the forum as i dont post much now and it is a forum after all and the point of a forum is to start discussions and have debates is it not im not trying to upset any one or start a bitching match it is just a random topic sorry

It's not my intention to put you down Brian but the statement you posted makes quite strong claims which aren't necessarily true. I know you probably saw it somewhere and it rang true to you - still dosen't make it true.

I'm not saying that there are not issues around immigration that need to be addressed but, in order for that to happen, we need facts not just "sayings" and urban myths.

Well said brian unfortunately this is a very touchy subject for certain members. Many times this subject has ended in post closures or major arguments. DW needs to face up to these fact now and again as you said brian its a straight forward question/post. Here is a link have a read and the same goes to everyone else dont shy away wake up to reality.

It aint the immigrants thats the problem, its the government that hands all the stuff out.

if someone at the end of your road was handing out £50 pound notes, wouldnt you rush there to take your share??

The population of the world is rising, its not going to be just a case of you stay where you are and we stay where we are. We all have our prejudicial views, even me i will admit that, but fact of life is we have to share the world with people from everywhere. rich are getting richer and poor are getting poorer. the rich will look down at the poor and want nothing to do with them and the poor will just kill each other. such is life.

Then again we had this discussion about a million times and i think there are other issues that have a bigger affect to us than immigration.
