hi
have a phillips plasma & media box that has went faulty managed to get a manual for it which tells me that the media box holds error codes that i can display on a standard monitor with the aid of a vga interface board which interupts the signals on pins 4 & 11 so that i can display on monitor. the output from box to plasma is on a 15pin d same as monitor this is what i want to take to vga. can anyone help please with information as phillps will not supply this board it is classed as a dealer tool.

Even if you have the error code would you be able to repair?

hi spectre
do not know if i can repair we all live in hope. the error codes should at least point me to what panel is faulty instead of completley stumbling about in the dark & causing more probs than i have,

Here is the VGA pinout but I think pin 4, as it's reserved as standard, may need something to decode the signal.

thanks for the pinout info. when i plug my unit into monitor the led on monitor changes to green indicating a signal is going to it but my screen is blank i think pin4 has to do with contrast this could be why i cannot see display. will have to search for more info on phillips interface.

Pin 4 could also be custom as in the standard 15 Pin High Density D it's reserved.

That could mean that signals on pin 4 (In this particular application) need to be interpreted by the Phillips IF to decode it. I can't imagine it would be a standard as pin 4 is "Reserved".

hi
still having no luck finding info on this unit have included excerpt of what manual says about it.hoping someone may have info getting to tearing hair out stage (what litlle i have left).

Processing-part: connect display video cable from e-box to VGA-monitor
(ordering code 4822 263 21189). Use special VGA-interface block in series
with this cable, (this block interrupts the signals 4 and 11 of the cable).
If monitor does not give correct picture, exchange e-box Take care the monitor
can handle 50 and 60 Hz frame-frequencies Additional repair instructions are
given in the fault finding tree of figure 4-6
