OK so I'm not thinking of dropping it into a padded envelope and posting it off, but i was thinking that i could nip to halfords and get a box and dismantle and then send it like that, then i was thinking maybe 2 parcels, frame and wheels, then i thought what about a courier? so i don't have to pull it apart

Thing is it's on ebay at the minute and I'm not sure of delivery charges etc of course i don't know destination at the minute. Any rough ideas on rates etc?

tia.

there was a thread somewhere about cheap couriers I'm sure ?
see if I can find it :)

Rat beat me too it.

I would agree about removing the wheels, however get some wood and wedge it between the stays so the do not bend in transit.

iv sent a few bikes through courier in the past and always used business post, i done exactly the same as you, go into halfords and ask for a bike box, they will always sort you out, and what i used to do was take the wheels off and they normally go in 1 box, just make sure you pack the frame well in bubble wrap or something so not to scratch it. the total was normally between 15 to 25 pound on next day delivery, which is pretty reasonable!

Thanks to all for the help as ever appreciated.

a courier just told me about £120.00 from Newcastle to london....so might have to change the fleabay advert to state £30.00 economy postage (i.e Royal Mail) or put that myhermes link in it and let people make there own mind up about it before they buy....

nice one chaps....thanks

wow after all this some one just bought it cash from me! brilliant! thanks again chaps and he's local so no need to worry about this after all! phew wait off my mind with all the other shizzbang that's going on!

As said above, parcels2go is a safe bet.

wouldnt use parcel monkey again mate took 5 weeks to get a refund of them for failed pick up
wasnt there fault as the failed pickup was citylinks fault but
the refund took ages and had to email them about 8 times
