just about to post something that was paid for over the weekend but i notice there is a message saying the money can still be reversed even after postage? whats this all about never seen this before?

any ideas guys just im due to post at 4pm but if the buyer can just reverse tomorrow im a bit wary of posting

I'm pretty sure it's a standard message thats been there a while, it only says transactions MAY still be reversed. it's the buyer protection side of paypal - it's why people use it. If the buyer raises a dispute paypal will put a hold on the amount of money it was for while it's sorted out i.e. they claim it was never sent, arrived broken, etc.

Make sure you have have proof of postage and if possible proof of delivery.

Out of interested - what are you selling?

It means exactly that, (just like chargebacks on credit cards)....

If the buyer scammed Paypal (ie: used a dodgy paypal account or stolen credit card) and it comes to light potentially even months down the line and Paypal lose their money, they will pass the loss onto you. this happens with credit cards a lot, it is called "chargeback".

They have a seller protection scheme so take a look at this on Paypal and make sure you do all the things on their list so that you are covered. The main one is sending it trackable/signature.

Paypal... gotta love 'em.

I got done over for £400 through a paypal transaction.

A guy from Holland bought something and then contacted me to say he wanted it sending to his mothers address as he was visiting her in the UK. I checked his paypal payment and it said he was validated and his address in Holland was Confirmed, and since the person I was sending it to had the same surname I thought it would be ok. About 3 weeks later I had a chargeback. Got in touch with them and they said the transaction was unauthorised. Tried to email him and phone him but got no response from either. PayPal gave him his money back so he now has the goods and the money :(

Only post to the CONFIRMED address is the moto of the story !

Yep I second that...

Only ever post it to the confirmed address listed on the payment. It is a pre-requisit for their seller protection.

I would go as far as to say if it is an unconfirmed address get a landline number for that address from them and call them back on it at some point to check it is real.
