Ordered 6 xbox360 games from CEX.co.uk 2 turned up in empty boxes the other 4 were ok raised a dispute. paypal now wanting me to go and get a police ref number? a tad over the top? its for £20? what you reckon?

Were the boxes open when they turned up? Its the principle mate report it. You been robbed. Either by cex or the postman.

no they were closed mate, deffo not tampered with IMO left CEX like that?

Hard to believe as they are a major company but to be honest with the state of affairs these days i woudlnt be surprised.

need it for insurance purposes imo

might well be courier / postal company at fault

i got a part from espares.co.uk just went missing through post but had tracking

Cex don't even check what they are buying. They just package it up and send it on. So when some dodgy geezer sends them empty boxes they don't even bother checking them.

I've read on a few forums about people getting stuff that's not right from Cex. One guy even got an Xbox with no motherboard inside.

It's worse than cash generators, at least they make sure stuff works.

Just ring the police mate, they will give you a crime refrence number over the phone.. just explain what paypal want.. they will help out mate..

I would have thought just raising a dispute (which means paypal will freeze CEXs money too) would be enough... normally paypal dont get involved and encourage the buyer and seller to talk.

Surprised that paypal are asking for the crime ref for such a small amount. If you raised a dispute CEX's money is frozen until it is all either amically resolved or cex refund you partially or fully.

Yep, just go to the copshop and ask for a ref.
