well i thought I'd pay a little tribute to a friend, it's a really a sad story...

The body found in a burnt out car in Cumbria is believed to be that of a local woman.

Police have not formally identified the body. A post-mortem examination is expected to reveal more details.

The discovery was made by emergency services who were alerted to the fire-damaged vehicle at the roadside in Talkin, Brampton, on Wednesday night.

It is thought the Volvo estate car may have hit a wall before it caught fire. No other vehicles were involved.

The road between Talkin and Forrest Head was closed while officers examined the scene. The vehicle was removed on Thursday lunchtime.

It is believed the car could have been burning for some time before it was discovered.

pays tribute to 'loving wife'

The husband of a woman who was found dead in a burnt-out car in Cumbria has paid tribute to his "loving and very supportive wife".

Emma Goodridge, 39, from Forest Head near Brampton, was discovered in a fire-damaged car in Talkin last week.

She and her husband shared a common affection for the area and moved to Cumbria eight years ago after spending their honeymoon in the Lake District.

Police continue to investigate the incident which happened on Wednesday.

It is thought the Volvo estate may have hit a wall before it caught fire.

Mrs Goodridge's husband, Warren , said: "It is very difficult to understand what has happened or to even try and make sense of any of it.

"It is going to be a long and painful process and we are just taking things one day at a time.

"Both myself and our families are overwhelmed by the support that has and is being given at this devastating time.

"Emma will be deeply missed, not only by me and her friends and family but also by her work colleagues at Border Steel."

i just want to say what an absolute top guy he is...and some times when you sit back and reflect on life you have to ask the question why, he come back to work at the same time as i did a few months ago, and we both had a trauma, i can't imagine what his is like as mine is nothing compared to his....

We should live for the day..

Very sad story indeed.
Comforting to know there are still a lot of caring decent folks about

I'm sorry for your mate's loss. Makes you really take a step back and reflect on life.

Stories is the news usually don't have much impact since you generally don't know the people involved and therefore don't really care. You know that bad things happen but as it doesn't affect you you just get on with things as normal. When something like this happens and you know people involved it's quite a shock. Sad news :(

guys....didn't wanna bring you all down and that, you know me,

I read that writing things down is a way of getting them out your mind, so i didn't want to depress any one with this news,

i am passing your respect to Warren, and you all have in input and deserve it!

He'd hate me if i had created bad feelings,

This is not a thread for dismay, it's a thread of thanks, love and peace,

I'll pass the comments over, in fact he'll be over the moon with them....but really he'd hate to see a "doom and gloom" thread....

Your friends are my friends, see you sat sun or Mon.

Take it easy mate

Serious one this, awful news. I can't imagine what you or especially your mate is going through, but I do know what you mean when you say writing things down or talking about things can help get it out of your mind so you and your friend should think nothing of taking all the time you need and do whatever you have to do during this dark period of time it won't be easy but anything to ease the pain. If that's going out for a pint then go get hammered and have a laugh, if it's talking things over and jotting things down then by all means think nothing of it. A lot of people think I'm an arsehole on here but this is as real as I can possibly be on here, you have my deepest sympathy mate. People grieve differently, you both do what works for you's two and don't let anyone tell you different. Whatever makes you feel better you should go for it.

sorry to hear that bad news m8 ....all my condolences and prayers

Sad news Dibbs, my heart goes out to warren his family and friends.
