hey guys i bought a sony tv on boxing day and its now showing up one of them dodgy pixels. i phoned them up and they say that if its less than seven pixels then they wont do anything about it.

what am i spose to do about the fookin pixel?

Mo

where did ya buy it from?

sony centre.

did it come with a free 5yr warranty? i know places like john lewis, empire direct (when it was trading), amazon who offer free 3/5 yr warranties, would only replace/repair/inspect the tv set if there were a certain amount of dead pixels. If you had bought it from Comet for example and taken out their 3/5 yr warranty, they'd replace/repair the set with just the one dead pixel. Think you should read through the t&c in regards what your warranty covers.

we got the 5 yr cover but according to sony centre they will replace the tv if its more than seven pixels.

they say that if we send it off an its less than 7 pixels then we will be charged for them taking the tv.
i can't seem to find the full t&c's for the waranty.

if thats what they're saying then their probably right, but these retailers will all they can to save money. You need to find the t&c's because it'll tell you what is exactly covered within the 5yrs. If it says minimum of 7 dead pixels then i suppose nothing much you can really do but complain that dead pixels shouldnt be occuring with 6 weeks of purchase...

its a joke same thing hppened to my 19" just glad its it bottom corner of screen not right in middle or i would not be able to live with it if that had happened i think i would have droped it and claimed off house insurance as pratically new tv should not be like this

i thought it depended on where abouts it was..cause i bought a laptop and it had a dead pixel just about the centre and they changed it cause they had to..if its near the edge then they dont have to..

I got a new 42" sammy and a few days later a Pixel went, only noticeable if the picture is very bright.

but cause your brain knows its there it can be annoying. lol
