You know the thermostat controls on your radiator that you turn up n down to control the tempreature of the room/radiator ??

I have one (maybe even two), that is faulty, when i say faulty i mean it allows the radiator to fully heat even if the thermostat is turned to "0" (off).

I was wondering, is there a way to fix these or try and fix them, like bounce them off a wall or someones head, lol, or wash them in soapy liquid, or spray with wd40 or summit ???
I know theres a little sensor or summit in there thats obviously not working right, just thinking i might be able to give it a kick in the ass and it will spring back to life.

anyone got any tried/tested tips please ?

tbh by the time you have drained down system to remove valve to try and fix it you might just as well replace it, they start from about £9.00 in B&Q.

if you take the top off can you see the plunger, on ours if it is fully up then valve is open if it is down then valve is closed. can you manually push the plunger down ?

Take the stat off and clean the pin that pushes the valve, its quite simple, done it on mine a few times so it must be ;)

yea they just twist off on this system, no need to drain system or anything, so i will take it off and have a fiddle with it, i had it off before and gave it a smack a little to see if summit would loosen or move, but when i refitted it, it just went back the same way, didnt work.

remove head from one that you know works try on rad if it works proves head is fault buy same valve change head saves draining pipes

i done that mate, i tried one i do know works and it worked fine in place of the dodgy one, does that mean the dodgy one is fecked then ? i.e- not fixable.
