Bag gloves dont come in sizes so get the pair that are most comfortable. If you want sparring gloves I'd go for heavy gloves, the last thing you want is the mrs knocking you out mate. I use 16oz for full contact sparring.

the gloves will just be for the bag (and i dont mean her) lol. so should i just get any?

Be careful of getting a bag that is too light. If it's for someone just to mess about with I would go for any gloves, but with a heavier bag at least 12oz gloves and maybe more.

I recommend listening to The Eye Of The Tiger before all bag sessions :)

Hopefully it will be decent. Lonsdale sold their brandname and there were some terrible things being sold as Lonsdale, but I think Everlast are still a good company.

They used to play that in my gym when I was boxing as a kid. I never liked it much despite one trainer trying to use it to motivate me. He told me my song was on, but I wasn't impressed.

i find a punchbag useful for training, but quite unnatural, better to go with the option of a dummy

oh man, you need to be fit to get into this stuff :)

I bought a kit from Argos a few years ago and I was totally exhausted after 5 minutes, IMO boxers are the fittest people on the planet, how can they take those punches and still have enough strength to give it back!?

Awesome. :)

my old bird shes a bag that needs punched the c.w will give you her number shes cheep for a bag lol

Didnt they used to fill the Argos ones with baby nappies a while ago???

where abouts are you mate? i have one for sale with the arm that attaches to the wall and swings back out of the way when not in use

lol... yeah SO true. Mike Ashley bought the name so thats why all his Sportsworld shops are always full of Lonsdale stuff.

Dead cheap gear though - and at £10 or whatever it is, them Lonsdale gloves are fine for bag work and pad work.

Steer clear of buying them Lonsdale focus pads though - they aint got no natural curve to them and the stitching splits pretty easily.
