Hi All

I'm trying to edit a MP3 file so that I can play the chorus as my ringtone. Any ideas which software can allow me to do this?

Cheers

Thanks for the advice guys. I'm going to check out those software options now.

Ok so I managed to edit the soundtrack using Audacity and it was pretty easy to do - Nice one little_pob.

I have a small problem in that the source MP3 file was of a very low quality. Is there any way I can re-encode the MP3 that I have to a better file before I edit. If I cant it doesnt matter as I'll enjoy the ringtone regardless (eve if I cant hear it lol)

If anyone wants to listen to the ringer I've attached it to this thread. be warned though its rather cheesy as its from a bollywood film from the 70's lol

Thanks to all that helped - much appreciated

You could try to pass it through the various filters in audacity, but it'll likely be futile. You can't 'create' quality when it's not there in the original recording.

Thanks for the better quality soundtrack mate. Its at a much higher bitrate to the one that I found. Unfortunately its missing the instrumental chorus but thanks anyway. Sounds much louder on my mobile.

I'll do some more searching now but these tracks are hard to find.

Cheers

you could use nero wave editor not just for wave files and you can turn up volune or normalise it plus loads of other tweaks you can do then save in different formats.

sorry its late , but Adobe audition works , very good

Just wanted to say thanks to all that helped me get this track onto my mobile and to beady for taking the time to find the full length MP3 track (which is real tough!!) Cheers for that mate, I just finished downloading the full mix so you can delete it off your server.

I'll check out the adobe audition as I generally like adobe products but audacity is really very simple to use with a great GUI.

Now we can all enjoy just the favorite parts of those songs as ringtones : multi :
