which satnav?

You'll obviously want to get a hold of maps for different countries then without paying for them lol ;)

I would say TomTom but that's the only one I've used. I've seen loads of maps for different countries for TomTom but not that much for Garmin, Navman, etc.

yeah tomtom if you want extra (free lol) maps and voices and speed cams. but if you dont want bells and whistles and just want a cheap one to get you from a to b and be able to put speed cams on then something like the garmin i3 or similar.

tom tom is the best though, a while back i wouldnt have said that as the older units where not as good, but the newer ones with bluetooth (handsfree calls, connect your phone) etc... are better and they do pick up quite well without disconnects the old ones where guilty of this, well at least in this part of the country.

i have a navman 520 its a couple of years old now supplied by my employer, it seems to have maps for the whole of europe on the cd, ive not loaded cos i only need uk.

ive read that is how navmans are sold with a european map cd.

with navman there doesnt seem to be a way of cracking the maps so they will run on another device.
