blimey looks like an end for me and DW at work.....the company seems to be restricting URLS which are of "not company/business use" (F**** T*****)... just tried another forum and its no longer accessible.....

Yeah have a search on the net mate there's loads of proxy avoidance software out there. Just depends how well the firewall and content filter app is set up.

it sounds like someone has been downloading some naughty stuff and the companys seen its arse

I would be careful about using proxy servers m8, at our place its dismissable offence to bypass the security.

the funny thing is it started of with facebook after it recieved bad press, then slowly sites i visit seem to be diminishing........anyway i wouldnt use a bypass mechanism for the companys corporate security........i would lose my job straight away!!!

i think this move is to cover the companies back......in its hay day i was downloading MP3's etc ..... but the security is getting more and more stringent.......oh well i guess i may have to actually do some work!!......

My work bans some but not a lot, I wouldn't bypass it either if they stopped most sites, I would just accept it. Hopefully they wont though.

@jaffa

the totti on your signature is nice ..... wouldnt mind a couple of hours alone with her ..... give her a workout she wont forget!!! LOL

you got to understand that if you go to work and spend 2 hours surfing the

net thats 2 hours a company has paid to employ you for the job in hand that

has not been done.....and you would expect to be paid at the end of the

month too...so i think its right...if they were to knock off the hours out of the

wages i guess employees wouldn't be too happy either...so i can understand

where bosses are coming from.

we are only allowed the bbc website not great but enough to keep me busy during a quiet spell

How about registering a domain lets say "w*w.work-related.com" and point that to DW ??? That way your not using any proxy avoidence software and if you company are just using simple blacklists etc this may get round it.

Then again this method won't get round most content filtering applications :) but maybe worth a try :)

UPDATE: something unexpected!!! A Vodafone 3G device has landed on my lap (although i will need to share it with another colleague).... where theres a will theres a way!!
