Ive got a Glow worm 18hxi high efficency condensing boiler and it does a good job BUT its quite noisy ,now I dont know if theres a right or wrong place to install a boiler but its in my bedroom, the water is set to come on around 6am and when it does it's making all kinds of noise's :( it's really started to happen sice the heating has been switched on ,now this would'nt bother me if it was placed somewhere else and it didnt wake me up so early ..is the boiler situated in theright place and should it make that much noise:confused: HELP Im so friggin tiered :(

Rat, is it the fan or the burner making all the noise?

If it is the fan, it may be faulty, try whacking a rake of high temp grease in hte bearings

but if it is the Burner.....putting it bluntly, buy some ear plugs....as it is the noise of the gas combusting and expanding.

cheers m8 I'll have a listen :) but why has it just started ? only really since the heating has been on ? not noticed it when it was just heating the water

Check your rads for air, just undo bleed valves with key on each rad, if water comes out then its ok, if air then wait till water comes out then lock it back up.
I've had this prob many a time, it dont half make a noise.

Worth a try m8 ;)

I had a thought last night about that m8 ,but I will check it Monza anything is worth a try m8

if all else fails try swap bedrooms with any kids you might have :) always works for me

Got to agree with Monza ,

deffo an airlock thats got in yer pipes ,

it makes a terrible noise when this happens,

dont forget Rat bleed the furthest radiator away from your boiler first,

that will deffo cure your noise ,

If not spend more time making Babies ,

I know yer scared in case you have any more LOL,

Have the snip then you wont care about the noise,

seriously try the above itll deffo cure yer prob,

its amazing how air gets into your system cause its not used as much,

regards Scoot :)

have you got it fixed yet m8? you could try flushing your whole system with Fernox which you can get at any DIY centre. Bit of a ball ache but could well work.
I had my new boiler installed yesterday 95000btu Mexico but it cost me £1500!!!

Sounds like a bit of a cowboy job Rat. I'd threaten them with Trading Standards if they don't sort you out pronto.
