Moving phone from TalkTalk to Virgin

As the title suggests, I am leaving talktalk and getting the L phone package from Virgin.

My number will be ported but do I still have to ring talktalk and cancel? The reason I am asking is that when I moved from BT to Talktalk, i didn't need to do this.

Any advice please? Has anyone been in this situation before? Even if u moved from BT to Virgin, advice would be appreciated.

you have to get the pac number from talk talk and pass it onto virgin who will then tell you which date the number transfers over. you use talktalk till that date and then it changes to virgin automatically sometime during that 24 hour period.
dont forget to cancel any direct debits etc to talktalk.
