sounds like the divertor valve aint opening for hot water try and change diaphagrahm valve washer in divertor valve

cheers mate.. do you think is it something, I can do it myself.. havent worked with combi boilers before.. Im fine with plumbing though.. so dont think it being a problem..

but need to find which valve it is first :) lol

I doubt it will be the diverter valve, as the diverter valve diverts the heating AWAY from the heat exchanger and lets the water through.

See if you can see a thermostat anywhere for the heating

hi marky there should be two swithces one marked heating or with a picture of a radiator and one marked hot water with picture of a tap on it they will be either by the main control panel or part of the timers for each.

is it a brand new house therefor a brand new combi??????????????

If you have the heating on then the heat exchager is already hot so you get instant hot water. If the heating isn't on then it can take up to a minute to get really hot water from the tap. Are sure that you waited long enough ??

I know this isnt going to be much help when I cant think what the part is called , but if you look at the pipe work when you have the cover off look where you have electrical connections attached to a component that actually sits inside of the pipe work , this is the component that sound like is causing you the problem as when you draw water this thermostat control isnt firing up the boiler .

Hope you can understand that lol

nig007.. its a greenstar 24i...

called Worcester and they said its a callout charge of £185 plus any parts... Im like.. phew !!! thats alot money..

I have checked the website but obviously its not written there.. so Im reliant on an angle with combi boilers knowledge telling me what part is required so I can do it myself...

still no luck !! when I turn it AUTO or position "I" it works fine, ie both the hot water and heating.. and burner comes on..

however, when I just want hot water and turn it to "O".. the burner doesnt come on...

perhaps, these settings are generic.. the O, Auto and I... any one got an idea..

please help guys.. dont want to pay £185 for something stupid

we have a combi (baxi) it has a 3 position switch with

position 1 with an icon of a tap and a rad
position 2 with an icon O this is off
position 3 with an icon of a tap

if its a brand new house then as said by others either the builder should do it or boiler manafacture should do it foc.
