the comp keeps putting the gearbox in safe mode .. changed the gearbox oil after a quick lap round the block back into safety i read some where that it might be the gearbox oil pressure sensor ?? or is the gearbox ****

has to be plugged in m8 , they go into limp mode , even a engine sensor can do that . is it the engine light that comes on or the gearbox light ? more info please year and engine size

Any electriacal fault either wiring or sensor would put the gearbox in limp home mode......normally stuck in 3rd gear.

you need to get your car put on the scanner to direct you to what fault code your module has stored....then take it from there...

good luck

Engine 1.8 pertol

year : 1996 (n)

service lights on not seen the engine 1 ..

don't want 2 pay for the dealer scan just not worth the cost . would rather buy the equipment myself

Snap-on or Mac tools can supply you with the correct diagnostics tools

think its best to phone a few small garages and ask if they can read it m8 , most small ones will only charge about 30 quid or u can buy my snap-on solus scanner for 2 grand
