anyone else heard that N*L are getting rid of their own engineers and sub-contracting all the work out ? it may just be my area but from what i've been told it looks like a national thing. Look's like the service is gonna get even worse!!!

There was some media coverage about this recently. The merged Ntl and Telewest company are getting rid of alot of employees to save themselves 250 million a year. They are also moving call centres to India which is going to make their service even worser.

tbh though, the standard of the engineers could hardly get any worse. Most of the ones i've met barely know what a multimeter is, and have absolutely no idea about volts and amps !. About all they seem capable of doing is following a parrot sheet !

i think its just another company in the list of companies who have decided .........

my mate works in a tap factory...has worked there for 20 years
six months ago he had some polish guys come in to his work to be trained on the machine he uses......later he finds out the guys he is training is having his job.....in poland....and he is being made redundant.....he got offered a better job but couldnt take it as the company he worked for wont let him take early redundancy even though it was offered to him 3 months ago...he has to work to the end ...and this includes 3 months in poland setting and training people to do his job....after that he can leave with his redundancy...now this company is keeping a distribution warehouse in this country where the taps get shiped in in crates then get put into boxes with the stamp on them MADE IN ENGLAND
now when these taps go out to the world with a uk stamp on ...people are going to think they where made in england...and when they fall apart due to cheap labor the uk will get blamed for this shoddy workman ship.....this country is a joke
