Firstly I got my blackcat up and running fine with my SB5101e, no problems.
I changed the mac to one I traded, it seemed to connect, assigned an ip and everything. It didn't however send/receive any data, packets send went up slowly but packets received was 0. So I tried a couple more macs to no avail.

Then I hit the big problem, for some reason blackcat is now coming up with 'Cannot find manufacturer (Manu 7ff, Part 7fbd)' when I try and connect.

I'm fed up now, my subbed 1mb is painfully slow!

Anyone any ideas? Any Help would be greatly apreciated!

It's the lead

It'll be the lead!

Which one have you built, the one with the chip or tho one without?

I've got a similar problem when I run the blackcat on my SB5100i with it coming up with 'Cannot find manufacturer (Manu 7ff, Part 7fbd)' on the console tab.

Anybody know which lead is causing the problem?

Is the N*L cable that goes into the modem? or the ethernet cable that goes between the modem and the PC?
Or do I need a different type of cable to do this?

Thanks in advance.

Can anyone help me?

try this lads...

1) switch off modem power
2) take off the lead connected to the modem 10 pin header and put it back on the other way around (just turn it and put it back on so the left side of the lead connecter goes to the right and the right becomes the left)
3) power it back up and run blackcat

Isnt there a patch for blackcat and the 5100 or is it the 5101?

Hopefully this will help anyone with the same problem in the future - it was the lead giving this error message - I think that it was dodgy connections.

Finally up got it up and running. Sweeeeet!

Thanks for the replies and to Killer_K, qwertyasdfy & solster for their PM's.
