Hi,

as title says, am after a twin tuner tuner cable box with an option of internal HD, any links please?

If you can go just a little more I can recommend the Xtrend ET8500, great box, nice screen and space for 2 more tuners if you want at a later date

You could go for the Technomate TM-Nano-SE M2 @ £140 ishhhh triple tuner 2 x dvbc 1x Sat. Not really burting the scene open like but capable.

Personally would spend a bit more a go for a VU+ or Xtrend.

don't you find the Xtrend ET8500 an ugly box with that screen on front panel

I have switched from a desktop PC system to the ET8500, so in comparison its very nice looking. I also find the info on the front display useful and the size means that I can read it from the other side of the room

TM Nano sounds like a good box I wish I knew more about cable side of things before I bought my Vu+ Zero.

I find the et8500 a nice looking box, it's small and compact. I find the screen very handy as it's going in my media cupboard when I move, I change the screen to mirror the tv screen so it saves having a tv in my media cupboard or taking one with me.

How do you control and view your box? Long HDMI or over baluns?

I tried some network baluns but just found too much picture lag. Especially when watching fast moving scenes.

Not sure yet m8. It's a new house some is wired with long hdmi, all have 5 x cat 6 to them. I've tested it through my 8 way splitter with a long hdmi and hdmi ir sender and it worked well. I've also tested using Kodi 17 and it's really easy (even the wife can operate it). So if the baluns fail I'll be using Kodi boxes which I seem to have a a lot of anyway.

You could also consider a VU+ Uno 4k. It's a bit pricey around £230 but well worth the price as it has an FBC tuner which allows you to record up to 8 channels at once from a single cable feed going into the back of the box. It runs Vix and blackhole images and also supports 4k.
