hi all
i changed the tuner in m dm800 to a dvb-c (was a satellite)
plugged virgin cable into the back of new tuner turned box on and its sees the new tuner
however the settings are all different compared to a satelitte where i just scan 28.2e

i took a screen shot of my virgin box and get the NETID etc but can someone help with manually setting up the tuner to scan for the channels ( i know i will only get Free ones till i put a c-line in ) i did just have a random fiddle (with the box lol) and it didnt find anythign on scanning so i clearly havnt got a correct setting somewhere

i also hear i can download autobouquets (this will just scan all the virgin/cable channels for me without a manual scan?) what happends with updates / new channels do they move around like 28.2e ones do?

Hello...

You will find that you need the Net ID first of all, below is a link within the site

https://www.digitalworldz.co.uk/index.php?resources/2901/

First go to menu > setup > service searching > tuner config where you should get a couple of options, your box may already have pre defined settings under the used service scan type heading but I've always found manual works better for me personally but no harm in trying others.

Change used service scan type to frequency steps, only select QAM64 and QAM256 as yes and all the rest should be set to no, set Scan SR6900 and SR6875 to no, enter additional SR as your frequency e.g 6952 and leave the second additional one blank.

Then go back and do a manual scan but set type of scan to complete and put no for network scan, no for clear before scan and no for only free scan then ok that, should go through a frequency check and start scanning once this is complete.

That's all...

You also mentioned a C line, please note for cable you will be using an N line and this will be run via mgcamd, I use 1.38...

Hope this helps but feel free to come back and ask any further questions.
