ppv pin number

i can not change the ppv pin number on a 1000 box.
when i go to the eng menu i can not get to the pin section for some reason that section can not be accessed. i CAN SEE THE PIN LINE BUT CANNOT MOVE ONTO.

ANY TIPS? MANY THANKS TO ALL IN ADVANCE

i think u gta pull the red jumper. do a search on restting the pin on 1000's. everything should b ther

Pull the red jumper,go into libby set your net id dont forget to use the correct cfg file,pull power lead,next plug in your lead go into engineers menu and set your freq and new pin number,press TV on your remote and your done

is there no other way, cos i do not have any leads to connect the box to the pc, i assume i have to 2 use libby? never done this b4

hey guys i gotta a similar problem on my di4000 t box, and for the love of hell, cannot change it in the engineers menu as most people say you can..... looks like i may have to pull the dreaded red jumper out......any ideas where i can get a scart to serial adaptor from (and dont tell me to do a search - as thats what i've been doing for 3 hours now).

Also wots the USB connection at the back of the STB for, can that be used as an alternative to plug into the pc??

I am not being funny mate but I try to read through the threads to find answers to my problems only to find someone saying pm me your email and I will email you the info. That’s great for the person who has the problem but not so good for the rest of us as the thread stops dead and we never get to know the answer. Newbie’s are always being told to search and they will find the answer but how can we when the thread turns into a private conversation. I am sorry if this seems to be personal but it is not, as a lot of people do this. I am posting this in the hope that some of the admin will read it and take note. I can fully understand why some of the more experienced members get upset when newbie’s ask questions on there first, second, or even third post when the subject has been covered before. As you can see I have been a member since 2001 I have not posted a lot simply because I don’t know a lot I take more than I give and that’s why I am more than happy to donate. But this subject needs to be addressed as some admin and members are very quick of the mark to criticise newbie’s while others are quite laid back. If the pin is lines then just press up and down on the remte to change each line.
If its stars and the box is from your area then just pull the pin.
I had to do this on a cuple of my friends boxs but i made sure they were from the same area first.

Hey Gazza, so what does that mean when you say make sure its from the same area, will it set the net id itself?? or do we still need to use libby once the plug is pulled......

if the box came from your area then you wont have any problems pulling the pin as it should keep the net id the same.
