N3 discussion

Why is it that some people here are quick to anger to a level where they threaten to ban people who discuss N3 and specifically about hacking it?

As far as I'm concerned, if you dont like a thread, ignore it. If a lot of people agrees with you and does the same thing, the thread will disappear to obscurity.

Some people just want to discuss possibilities whether their right, wrong, stupid nonsense etc. If you think that you are technically superior and understand the whole thing - just sit back and laugh at the fools...No need to get angry

In fact, if we all do what somebody has suggested and forget about cable altogether then maybe the cable forum should be removed altogether...

i think its coz we cant post...... keys, & test scripts e.c.t ..regarding N3

hmmm..what do we do about people who get angry about people getting angry about N3 threads tho?

anyone know where I can find a rock with at least 6 foot of headroom under it?

I was suggesting to forget about a cable hack, not cable discussion altogether.

N3 has been around for a few years and has not even got a dent in it. So why think it is suddenly going to happen now.

Its because, I maybe wrong here, the cable forum here was for hacking rather than discussing um I dont know - whats good on telly

I dont think anybody suggested it will suddenly happen but there are people who are thinking about how it works and how it might be hacked. Again might all be nonsense but I still like to read them and some people do aswell and you never know that out of discussions and collective thinking that something may come up?

yes but dont you think most of these theories will have been thought abroad who already are on n3 think the most annoying is when ppl constantly rabbit about n3 as tho the world has come to an end why not just have a sticky for n3 and any concerns etc go in there instead of seeing umpteen threads about it

Discussion of N3 ... well when some then I will welcome it.

What I don't like seeing is endless posts:
- Asking what it is (there is more than enough information on this).
- Asking WHEN it will hit an area.
- Asking IF it will hit an area.
- Asking if it's worth buying box 'x'
- Stating maybe Chris Tarnovsky is needed to help them out.

Quite honestly these posts are growing dull.

I've not really seen any remotely technical discussion on the subject however, it seems that nobody is interested in the technical aspects just the free viewing.

because it can't be hacked? then why have a sat section? maybe there's legal technical questions about cable people want to ask?

the person who was angry
does know a little bit more that you do m8
so he is getting angry because it cannot be done
the security on the card is imense
and part of the security is if u try to peel the layers off the chip to even try to dump
u blow the chip so card fooked no read
basicly what we have all been told by the ppl who know more that 99.9% will ever know

Be interesting if you did as no one has managed to extract this info yet !

As for test scripts, there aren't any worth even downloading. Its all either fake or wishful thinking by people who think simple changes to N2 scripts will get them into N3 cards - it wont !

N3 been around for a very long time , not been cracked yet !! so why now ??

me. This whole thread is a dig at me because I said I would ban the next person who suggested Chris Tarnovsky was the best hope for N3. This person (and others) have been suggesting this crap on multiple forums.

The methods chris uses would not work on N3 and are not really that 'clever' - the only thing he has above some others in his field is an expensive lab originally payed for by NDS. The methods shown on his video's and press releases may work with older generation smartcards but will not work with G3 NagraVision cards - these cards are designed against this kind of attack.

He has been shouting about how he could crack Nagra3 but he won't - as it would not be worth the lawsuit to do so. If he was going to do it he would have just done it over a year / 18 months ago.

To my mind all these idiots randing on about how Chris is there next best hope need a reality check and should stop living in cloud cookoo land. The may also want to consider getting off there fat arses and switching there brains on - they may be suprised at what they can achieve if they put there minds to it.

I go to DW and nowhere else (dont have time) to get my understanding of this stuff but I know not to take it as bible that everything is right but I still like to read what people have to say. I get more interested in it then I may do more reading about it.

I got much respect for your knowledge but I got a bit taken aback by your threat to ban somebody for posting something that, to me, was interesting enough to read.

I did not take it as a dig tbh, and I'm sorry I had to take the hard line ... but you must appriciate how dull it is when you see a thread wanting to discuss something technical on N3 then find out it contains that crap.

Yes it probably was interesting - the first time his rants and self apraisal was posted. But nothing he has done/said or is ever likely to help with N3. I have to take the hard line to try and shatter the illusion these kind of posts cause.

There is no getting away from the fact if you want anything to work on N3 for here you are going to have to get your hands dirty in code. Chris is not gonna come along like your night in shining armour to bail you out.

Thats probably the reason you wont of seen the hordes of posts from others regarding Tarnovsky and how he's going to crack N3. It just gets frustrating and boring after a while especially when you know that he's never actually going to attempt something that he'll probably fail at. He's just so far behind at reversing chips that he's not even in the race. The techniques he's using were being used in universities by degree level students 10+ years ago. The stuff Postgrad and Doctorate students use is on another planet in comparison.

The fact NDS employ him as a security consultant is a joke. Probably half the stuff he puts out is disinformation.

i take it that u dont like this bloke !! why m8 ??? , coz we dont see any1 else on the net doing it this way !!! unless u now some1 >?? the fact is he is a very clever bloke ... he woulded say he cud do it unless he cud. & NO he not do it coz of the legal stuff!!!! m8!! folks dont have security experts listening to ya talking if u dont know what ur on about !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! of corse he knows all about it ..would you tell the world & get locked up ........
