Your going to have to download the tutorial for the 1000 series box.
Then you need three wires which are of lengths 15cm, 10cm and 5cm. Try to use bell wire from maplins, its the one with the solid core and not the strand stuff.
With the two larger wires you need to remove some of the plastic covering around the middle as the wire joins the board in three places!! Then remove around 2mm from the ends of the wires and test the wire on the contact points without actually soldering to see if they reach.
Now tin the wires at the bear points do this away from the board, just touch the soldering iron to the bear point and touch some solder onto the wire, so that a small amount sticks to the wire.
Now when it comes to actually soldering the wires to the board all you need to do is, put the wire at the contact point and apply the solder iron for a 1 or 2secs. Hopefully the wire should adhere to the contact point, be careful not to apply too much heat to the board as the pads can peel away from the board.
Also the led simm from jabs did have BK1 and BK2 the wrong way round on some simms!!!!
Just get the tutorial and it will make sense.
