DHCP Force..No Config Files with Sniffed Macs??? Help?

when i was scanning i used Coax Thief, i did get some macs with no config files which as i understand it they are from the TV boxes.
i'm not sure how it works if your area has been updated to use the dynamic config files, i would guess they still show up.

the only 1 config file that showed up was from my own modem lol..i got that by typing my subbed modems mac in the top field.

will coax theif do the trick?

In some areas you won't get config files anymore as Virgin have stopped this.

If coax thief doesn't work then try and find this. Ambit tool 0.971
it has a mac scanner in this version and gets macs from a dif ubr. but you do need a mac to start with a a base mac.
I would upload it but i can't yet, shouldn't be too hard to find

can i use my subbed modems mac as a base?

if you have an alternative then i would use it, i used my subbed one until i got a valid mac then started again with the one it had found.

Its not a good idea as a good number of your results will likely be subbed modems on the same UBR. If you start playing with these then you will be causing trouble to some poor subscribed customer.

Even with Mac's from another area be very careful. If a Mac doesn't work or seems to occasionally stop working then abandon it because there's a good chance some other person with the same Mac is trying to get online !

help please could someone help meget this sorted? ?????

I have emailed the program to get the mac address, this is going to be the only method where you might get 20mb macs because the only modems that fully support 20mb are the ambit 250 modems and they use BPI and therefore don't get picked up using a scan such as coax thief.
from what i can tell you need to get a valid mac and then just get assigned a config rather than force one now, if your area has had an update that is.

If you are scanning in an area on a different ubr from yours then you could always just try one of the obtained macs and see what config is assigned to it.
