I live in London in an ex N-TL area, now taken over by Virgin.

I am installing broadband. Will I also be able to hook up TV through the same coax cable by splitting it?

Also, will the dreambox 500c work in this area??
will the nokia dbox2 work in this area??

Which is better?

Final Question (honestly)... can one of the admin guys make it so that I can download instructions, etc? please, pretty please.

I promise to remain an active member for the next few months.

yes splitting the cable to put a modem will work
dont no about dreambox 500c ..but sure someone on here will tell you
about the downloading you need 20 good post or you can donate to the site

A nokia dbox2 will work. As long as you have a broadband subsciption you will be bale to pick up the TV channels as well. If you tlak nicely to the installers they will put a splitter in for you. I used the line of I will probably get TV in a couple of months so can you put the splitter in now!

As long as your dbox2 has been put in to debug mode you'll be able to set it up and away you go!!

Thanks for the info guys....

I had my heart set on a dream box though, I though it was better than the 'nokia dbox2'. Am I misguided??

If anyone knows the difference between nokias dbox2 and a dreambox... I'm all ears.

Thanks,

Storms

The Dreambox will work perfectly.

The Dreambox is technically better, it's brand new, it's faster, it's better looking but if you want to stream video from the box to your PC to record on your hard drive then you may have problems.

If I was spending cash, I'd go for a Dreambox.
