Unlooper problem or nagraedit problem?

I have just borrowed a T911 unlooper from a friend and am having a bit of a play with some original cards that I had lying around. My objective being if I could unloop these and read them then I would do this with another card that I have paired with a samsung box to get BK and do a funcard as I have with my other box. I know it would be easy? to jtag as I have done in the past but I thought I would go for a more non-invasive approach on this one as i've got this unlooper. Anyway, enough of this preamble. let me get to the problem. I have all the neccesary files, scripts, software that I think I need and as far as I can make out the 2 cards have unlooped successfully using winexplorer. (Rom10 A82 & Rom11 B0D). When I try and read either of these cards using nagraedit to my Infinity USB Unltd using the VCP mode (virtual com port) I get this sotr of response :-

So, what I don't know is if this is a result of the cards not unlooping properly or if it is a problem with my programmer set up / nagraedit ? Does anyone have any ideas or thoughts?

Have you set the compatibility to windows 98 for nagra ie right click properties,compatibility,setifs failed is normally a pc problem

card is still locked m8., run through winexplorer again ,though i must say rom 11 bod are quite easy to open 10 min. + what does rom 10 a82 say in nagra

Setifs failed is commonly because you are using a infinity USB which uses a virtual com port which nagra doesnt like.

It can also be because as already said you dont have nagra set in windows 98 compatability mode.

The Rom10 gives exactly the same as Rom11 (but obviously the Rom revision and Eeprom revision differ for the two cards).

I will try the win 98 compatability mode first as ICE 2004 & Kinel suggest then if no luck will have a go at unlooping again and I will post back if I don't get anywhere.

Hi,

Is the problem with the writer confined to moscs? Does it write fun/atty cards ok but fails with moscs mate? I had a similar problem with my infinity usb unlimited that I tracked down to having a dual core cpu in the computer.

The problem was only confined to moscs being read in vcp mode - funs reading no problem but ive got it sorted now!! I changed settings to run nagra edit in win98 mode but that did not make a difference as such at that time. What I've found since is that there are compatability issues with the latest version of the infinity usb ultd software (2.65) when running in vcp mode. To get round this I have d/l an ealier version of the software (2.63) that is known to be good from the forum at the infinityusb website and that has done the trick. My 2 rom cards read no problem in nagraedit and they had obviously been unlooped ok. Thanks guys for the help !!
