hey,

I have been given a new mac and config file do i just put it in the bottom of the
Cable Modem Identification
and reset the modem.

Surfboard 4100

i have the following options.

User Defined Configuration File Not sure what this is
Download File from ISP's TFTP Server Not sure what this is
Update Cable Modem firmware Think this speaks for it's self
Cable Modem Identification do i insert new mac and restart ?

Download File from ISP's TFTP Server leave this blank

Update Cable Modem firmware this is where u upload the hack firmware if u having dont so already ]

this is the mac and that that me mate got me.


00407B7XXXXX 10.XXX.39.88 cm-10240-384

under the one that says file name what do i put in there, and what do i have to do with the mac address ?

User Defined Configuration File: thats where u put ur config file (cm 10240-384)and click change config

Cable Modem Identification: 00407B7XXXXX new mac and restart ? then reboot the modem and thats
 
cheers, ok one last really dumb question....

is the config file the 10.XXX.39.88

(thinks to my self what a dummy)

the config file is

cm 10240-384

forget about 10.XXX.39.88 you dont need that
 
ahhh so i just put the config file in

cm-10240-384

then go down to the bottom and put the new mac address in...then go to restart ?

sweet.
