Hi,

Does anyone know if it's possible to downgrade the NTL 3.3 loader platform to the previous 3.2 or 3.1? Reason I ask is an ongoing problem with a 4001 box my brother in law has in Ireland which for some reason has all channels mixed. It's on 3.3 software so I sent over another box with 3.2 on it, he plugged it in an away it went with a new flash and all OK. I want to try to downgrade this loader if possible and try again as i've come to the conclusion this is the problem.

Thanks for reply mate but I thought you couldn't force a 4001 to update?

Only the platform can be changed over-air. The loader remains static for the lifetime of the box !

Its usually not a good idea to program a box with different loader versions as very often the loader version changes to accomodate a hardware change on the pcb's !

What is it that you actually want to change - the loader or the platform ?

The bit I want to change is on page 3 in E/M, it's the Build Version which is causing problems I think. The problem box has 3_3P4N_P_P4001_R_ and I want it to be either the 3_1 or 3_2. I am presuming this is the loader version?

That's the software version the box is running and from what little I know most if not all areas for pure and excw are now at 3_3 so unless you can find a netid that still offer the older software then you won't be able to downgrade.
