some family idiot has ruined our lawn - Bloody put weedkiller everywhere, and we're left with brown dead patches, as well as weedkiller on the lawn the bright spark also put it on the veg patch where we had wild garlic, mint and coriander

Oh and on the other side we had a plum tree and raspberry tree

Now that the soil is poisoned how long do we need to wait until the ground is "flushed" and we can re grow/eat anything from the garden

Also whats the best way to get the lawn green again

I can't conceive how anyone could do this through stupidity or negligence. Sounds more like something someone would do out of spite :-(

Dont ask..seriously...f*ckin moron. Person was even told do NOT use the weedkiller due to the food growing + we have a weed puller for the lawn....mates think it's funny!!

I'm sure they find it highly amusing :( My comment about watering was serious as weed killer leeches away after a few good rainfalls so you can help it along with a good spraying. A few days is all it takes in most cases but if you want to be safe maybe a week and you should be fine.

Do you know what was put down?

yeah, that's what I've been doing but I just have no idea how long the crap will stay in the trees..etc Potentially this could ruin the fruit for years...god damn moron

Only benefit from this is that i could redo the garden without having any food growing, which is a shame as its nice to just go out and grab some fresh spring onions..etc

The trees will usually be clear in about three months which probably means you may want to ditch any crop you get this year. You should be able to start planting within a couple of weeks but if you could find out what was used the manufacturer will supply more accurate information.

If it was any roundup product then you are talking 6 months minimum, I work with this stuff on a daily basis

Why was the person even in the garden?

If it glysophate based weed killer then it usally takes effect about 2 to 3 weeks later . It does not stay in soil as it is absorbed by the leaves and all affected plants will die with in that time . If he has just put it on ,then throughly water the plants ect as this will neutralize the effect of the weedkiller
