The amount of drivers texting as they pass me is truely worrying. I think they need to make the penalties a bit more severe.

that wouldnt work...trying to educate people would be more effective.
They've been trying to educate people for years and it's had sweet f*ck-all effect on the numpty brigade! :Angryfire
The big stick is what's needed for people who ignore the law on this.

It wouldn't totally eradicate it, as there are always going to be some clowns who think they're too clever to ever get caught. But it would cut it down considerably.
I bend and break law's that don't suit me as most of us do, but i always weigh up the odds of getting caught along with the repercussions. Usually i'm not that bothered about the penalties involved. If i knew it was instant jail or the like, i'd wouldn't be so blazay. I mean, slaps on the wrist don't scare anyone outside of primary school.
