These boards are about to go on sale at Aldi. They have V-stream printed on them which suggests they are KWORLD boards and have Philips chips.
I'm thinking of getting one to play about with and I'm wondering if you peeps could throw in your tuppence worth as to whether these boards are any good or should I save my money for something else.

At the price they are selling for imho, well worth the money.

I think I might have the same card you are talking about but I bought mine from ebay ages ago... Mines excellent and works great so I would defo get one if I was with you... The bundled software is ok but your better of downloading something like ShowShiffter or Media Portal... Oh make sure you download the latest BDA Drivers from K-World website...

Is this the same as the
V-Stream Xpert TV-PVR 7134 PCI with Remote Control
thats £20.29 @ Amazon (and qualifies for free deliv)

Allow you to watch TV on your PC!! ;) Well I believe these cards have BDA drivers now, so it is possible to get additional software to read your own codes

Hmmm checked Amazon and this card seems to be analogue only. The ALDI one is for digi telly as in freeview. May be missing something tho?

BBM & NM you are quite correct I did a search on the Kworld site, and found out. Ooops (whistle).

As I'm sending my USB one back as it playing up, I'm going to get an aldi one - its basicaly a Kworld V-Stream PT100 card in a Tevion branded cardboard box. On digitalspy people are saying that the drivers on the kworld site work better than those on the CD/tevion website.

will this card work in the same way as a nebula ie codes

I think with the Nebula, you see the MHEG and can enter paid PIN's in, just like a normal STB? This card could also do that IF you had software player that supported displaying the MHEG correctly (not sure of any that works this way for non-nebula cards). The card has BDA compatible drivers so works either with the supplied software or any TV-card software that supports BDA (many do).

So you can't enter a PIN purely because the software doesn't handle the MHEG correctly (the card itself and the drivers do). However I am watching Setanta on my ALDI card - I had to edit the channel's PID's to the correct values.
